Learning objectives are essentially what your customer wants or needs to learn from your course. In other words, the “What’s in it for me?”
Most of you are probably creating information or skills based courses. But using effective learning objectives are a great way to ease your customer into their learning journey.
You can share your course learning objectives in a few creative and engaging visual ways by:
#1 Showing the desired end result
By using a video at the start of the course, you can literally show customers what they’ll be able to do once they’ve completed your course. See Nike doing this really well in the following video.
#2 Using humour
Use a funny opening line, video or a story. Try to embed your learning objectives within your story. If anything, humour helps everyone settle in so much better.
#3 Appealing to emotions
Think about what motivated your customer to buy your course in the first place! Do they want to learn how to master a piece of software and can that software help them to change their lifestyle? Will it give them the freedom to spend more time with their families? You get where I’m going with this, right?
